What is All About Me Portrait?
I offer bespoke hand drawn portraits that describe you in a different way, giving away as much or as little as you want to reveal. You can be very specific and straightforward or go for metaphors and associations and make your portrait a puzzle to solve.
Anything you like about yourself, all that makes you your unique self, can be incorporated into one detailed (in terms of describing your personality) portrait.
Not so long ago I found out that I had ADHD. That was both a shock and a relief. I dived into learning about it: I discovered some books written about myself (though never mentioning my name while describing MY life in every little detail possible with terrifying details :) I read even more articles, devoured tons of audio content about ADHD, and all this time I was drawing. Doodles were turning into stories filled with struggles, desperation, tears and hopes. I realized, this is how I process the world, this how I help myself to understand myself, to calm my mind, to come to terms with losses and find new strength to go on and stay sane, to become happy again. Drawing has become my main mindfulness tool, my magic wand. And because it was such a private story, such intimate process, I didn’t rush to share but when I finally did - I did not expect people to relate so much. “I had to see it today”, “it made my day”, “this is so ADHD - I feel seen”… - comments like these first bewildered me. I then realized that I myself react quite in the same way to beautiful pieces by other artists (in any field), so could I be the same inspiration for others? This is what I am exploring…
A portrait's topic can be anything; your child's story - starting with the very first thoughts of her, through the pregnancy to her fist anniversary. Or the 10th. Or the 50th... Anything you hold dear on this journey can be incorporated in a portrait: the first time you saw your child in your dreams, when you felt you were ready for having a baby, her first shoes or her favourite toy, or how your pet were resting their head on your pregnant belly.
